The Red Howler is the loudest land animal on the planet with its howl having a maximum range of up to 5km. They are currently under threat from deforestation and its associated habitat destruction. I was fortunate enough to spend a month working with the animals pictured here. The photos were taken in park Ambue Ari, Bolivia. The park is an animal refuge providing shelter and care for animals that have lost their native forest habitat or have been rescued from human captivity. It is run completely by volunteers and managed by the Inti Wara Yassi association.
